A Dallas woman seeking help with her finances missed her bus stop and found herself with one more problem. With two small children in tow, she became distraught not knowing where to turn. She rode into Plano on public transportation but missed her stop in front of the Bank of America building and found herself at a restaurant on the wrong side of Central Expressway. She called Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS) of North Central Texas to tell them that she couldn’t make her appointment because she was too frightened to walk across the bridge in heavy traffic with her two toddlers. Neal Ator, a nationally certified credit and debt counselor didn’t want her to miss the appointment since she had come so far. He told her to stay where she was and that he would come and get her in his car so that she and the children would be safe. Neal provided her with a complete assessment of her finances and gave her a plan of action that she could easily follow to alleviate her debt-stress. After her session she was able to catch the bus near the building to return to her home in Dallas. “How could I let her come all that way to Plano from Dallas and still not get the help she needed,” Neal said, as he accepted the CCCS Golden Eagle Award for Exceptional Service to Clients. “CCCS encourages all of us to look for ways to help our clients especially in unexpected ways,” he added. The CCCS office in Plano is located at 101 E Park Blvd, Suite 757. To contact Neal call 972-881-2887. |
