| CCCS SUPPORTS NATIONAL HOMEOWNERSHIP MONTH WITH ASSISTANCE FOR HOMEOWNERS FACING FORECLOSURE |

For Immediate Release on June 7, 2007 June is National Homeownership Month. Consumer Credit Counseling Service® of North Central Texas, Inc. (CCCS) supports National Homeownership Month by offering the most comprehensive counseling and loss mitigation available. Housing counseling services include pre-purchase counseling, pre-rental counseling, foreclosure prevention, reverse mortgage counseling and predatory lending. CCCS is partnering with the Dallas HOPE Partnership to help homeowners in A hotline—888-995-HOPE—is hosted by Homeownership Preservation Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing foreclosures throughout the “Residential foreclosures are at an all time high in The Homeownership Preservation Foundation knows that many people are still unaware that there are nonprofit counseling agencies specializing in saving homes and the counseling is free to the homeowner. CCCS is participating in the hotline which will put the homeowner in contact with the counseling agency. After the counseling session the homeowner will receive a written action plan which may include communicating with the mortgage lender to facilitate a solution. There are three free workshops available to homeowners this month.
- Monday June 11th in DeSoto, 6 p.m. for dinner and registration, workshop begins at 6:30 p.m. with Q&A at 7:30. It will be at 211 E. Pleasant Run, - Wednesday June 13th in - Saturday June 16th in The Homeownership Preservation Foundation (HPF) is a Minneapolis-based 501c (3) nonprofit dedicated to reducing foreclosures and preserving homeownership for American homeowners. The Foundation was formed in September 2004 and operates the Homeowner’s HOPE Hotline, an independent, free counseling service at 888-995-HOPE. Through partnerships with city, county and state governments, federal government agencies, community-based non-profit organizations, and mortgage companies, HPF offers creative solutions to preserving homeownership.
